After a tense fight with administration, Opening Days (OD) Leaders are finally receiving a raise. In addition to sandwiches (complementary Subway), they will receive a “crisp” high five. “I think this reflects the university’s commitment to fairly compensate our student leaders for their hard work,” said one administrator.
OD Coordinator Slamuel Stevens recalled, “The payroll office wanted to distribute the high fives in a leadership award at the end of the semester, but we were concerned that so many high fives in short succession would knock the wind out of the OD Leaders.” High-fives and sandwiches will instead be distributed bi-weekly based on hours worked.
