Emergency Medical Aid
February 10, 2023, 3:18 a.m. (In a Campus Residence): Campus Safety received a call from a student requesting to be taken to the ER. The student stated that they believed they had food poisoning, and that they felt faint and dehydrated. The Willamette Emergency Medical Services (WEMS) supervisor was contacted and met the officer and the student at the scene. After an evaluation of the student’s vital signs, the officer transported the student to the ER.
February 12, 2023, 9:27 p.m. (In a Campus Residence): A student called Campus Safety to report that they were having pain in their chest and requested a ride to the ER. The officer arrived on scene and transported the student and their friend to the ER.
Suspicious Activity/Persons
February 10, 2023, 2:22 p.m. (McCulloch Stadium): A student called Campus Safety to report two individuals trespassing inside the stadium. A Campus Safety officer arrived on scene and asked the individuals to leave the premises, to which they complied after packing up their belongings.
February 12, 2023, 4:37 p.m. (Sparks Field): A Campus Safety officer received a call about two individuals attending a soccer game at Sparks Field who were bothering the referee. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer observed the two individuals speaking in sharp tones and using aggressive body language directed toward the soccer coach. The officer asked the individuals to leave the premises, to which they complied.
February 13, 2023, 8:36 a.m. (Goudy Commons): Campus Safety received a report that a suspicious individual not affiliated with Willamette had entered the bathroom at Goudy, and was about to enter the dining area. A Campus Safety officer was dispatched to the scene and escorted the individual off the premises.
February 14, 2023, 6:35 a.m. (Olin Science): A Campus Safety officer received a call from a student who stated that there was an individual outside of the Olin building who was screaming and throwing their belongings. The student stated that they had almost been struck by the individual’s shopping cart during the incident. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer located the individual who was still acting in an aggressive manner. The officer escorted the individual off the property.
Theft
February 10, 2023, 2:37 p.m. (Tennis Courts): A Campus Safety officer was dispatched to a reported theft from the shed at the tennis courts. Upon arrival at the scene, the officer observed that the key had been taken from the lock box, which was not set to the correct combination. There were no obvious signs of damage to the outside of the shed, however various items had been taken from inside the shed. The door will be rekeyed and a new padlock will be put on the shed.
February 13, 2023, 3:52 p.m. (Collins Science): A Willamette employee reported that their bike had been stolen from their unlocked office while they were in a meeting. A Campus Safety officer met with the employee to file a report, and advised the individual to file a police report as well. Camera footage from outside the building was reviewed, but there was no sign of the bike or any potential suspect on the footage.
February 16, 2023, 3:03 p.m. (Atkinson Annex): An individual contacted Campus Safety to report that their vehicle had been broken into while parked on campus. The method of entry to the vehicle is unknown, however the individual noticed the alarm was going off when they returned to their vehicle and that the locking mechanism was no longer working. Various items were taken from the vehicle, and there were signs that the culprit was smoking and drinking inside the vehicle. The individual was advised to file a police report.
February 16, 4:15 p.m. (Matthews Parking Lot): A student contacted Campus Safety to report that the two rear driver-side windows of their vehicle had been broken while parked in the Matthews parking lot. The Campus Safety officer arrived on scene to take photos of the vehicle and gather information to write a report on the incident. The student was additionally advised to file a police report.
February 17, 2023, 12:43 p.m. (Baxter Hall): A student contacted Campus Safety to report that their bike had been stolen from the Baxter bike storage sometime between Fall of last year and the day it was reported. The cable lock on the front of the bike had been cut, however the bike lock was still attached to the bike rack.
