How long have you worked for the Collegian and in what positions?

This past year was my first and only year working at the Collegian as the Production Manager.

What has been your favorite part about working for the Collegian?

The most rewarding thing about being able to work with the same people for a year is to watch and help them develop their stories and confidence in their work!

What is coming up next for you?

I'm very much the type of person that has to have a plan for everything. Of course, this is the year that everything was terrible and the job market is competitive! During the spring "break", I had a mini-crisis about securing a job in marketing/strategy before graduation. Since then, I have become more optimistic because I'm just looking forward to spending the summer with my friends and family after not being home in a year and a half. (Hopefully I will find a job along the way)

How long have you worked for the Collegian and in what positions?

I have worked for the Collegian for two years now. I was hired as a Staff Writer for the sports section in Fall 2019. I was then initially hired to be the Sports Editor for the Fall 2020 term. But after sports got canceled, I applied to the vacant News editor position.

What has been your favorite part about working for the Collegian?

My favorite part about working for the Collegian have been the Weekly/Budget Meetings. It has been a blast to gossip about Willamette with a group of dedicated editors and exec staff.

What is coming up next for you?

I got accepted into the Newhouse Graduate School of Journalism at Syracuse! I plan to defer a year and start the one-year program in 2022 though. That being said, I don't know what my immediate future looks like yet though.

How long have you worked for the Collegian and in what positions?

I have worked at The Collegian for only one year as the Photo Editor, however, I've loved every second of it!

What has been your favorite part about working for the Collegian?

My favorite part of working at The Collegian has been the connection it has allowed me to maintain with the on campus community. After moving off campus I felt removed from the Willamette bubble but once I started at The Collegian I felt like I not only knew what was happening but was a part of everything going on at Willamette.

What is coming up next for you?

Right now I am waiting to hear back from a couple of jobs but I'm really excited about two of them! First, I would be doing one year of service with AmeriCorps in Puerto Rico helping to rebuild houses and infrastructure that was damaged by natural disasters. I love this because it's a chance to give back to the place that gave me so much during my time studying abroad. Or I will be teaching English in Spain as a Language and Culture assistant in local public schools there. I love this one as it's a great chance to travel and learn even more languages. As for this summer I will be fishing in Alaska to make some real money so that I won't be super broke starting my new jobs abroad!

How long have you worked for the Collegian and in what positions?

I have worked at the Collegian for one year in the exec position of Business Manager.

What has been your favorite part about working for the Collegian?

My favorite part about working at the Collegian is knowing about nearly everything that is happening on campus. I love that my friends constantly ask, 'has the Collegian written about this?', or 'where does the Collegian stand on this?'. Being a part of this community of co-workers always looking to provide the WU community with the most up to date information is amazing.

What is coming up next for you?

I am moving into an apartment in Portland with one of my best friends from WU who happens to have been my next door neighbor my first year! I am also applying for jobs in the social impact financial/business sector and have an interview coming up soon!
