Hello, Bearcat Fan! Like you, The Collegian’s best sports compilation column has returned. If only it were under better circumstances: Quick! Basketball’s in trouble and they need you to read about them! Let’s go to the news …

Women’s basketball won their first two conference match-ups, including an overtime thriller against Lewis & Clark, but have since lost four straight, leaving them tied for No. 6 in-conference. They will host the Loggers this Saturday.

Men’s basketball stands without a conference victory after six attempts. The squad’s recent misfortune bears a stark contrast to their outstanding 5-2 preseason.

Both swim teams destroyed Pacific University, while the women’s squad went on to extend their win streak against Southwestern Oregon CC. The men failed to find a further result.

In the world of sport: The OSU Beavers got the last laugh after their abandonment by arch-rival UO — an obsolete Pac-12 payout left them $25 million in the green while the Ducks wallowed in Buckeye-red. In other news, Nottingham Forest FC are cruising to Champions League challenge and an 11th hour bow-out left Renato Moicano to be cannon-fodder for Islam Makhachev at UFC 311.

More to come: Corban U’s been active in the courts and the results may not shock you, a new angling group has entered the recreation club fray and Magoo’s Sports Bar has seen lighter days.
