Hello Bearcat fans! Hopefully the snowfall this week muffled all that you don’t want to hear! Let’s go to the news!

Women’s Basketball met their season’s end in the conference semifinals. The Whitman Blues, who delivered the Bearcats their final loss, went on to defeat Pacific in the finals. Team leaders Sami Riggs (‘23) and Ashlyn Ascuena-Mercil (‘23) have each concluded their Bearcat careers. Thank you!

Softball’s match up against Linfield and Baseball’s trip to Thousand Oaks, CA were canceled. The Basecats will head back to the diamond for a three game series away at Fox this weekend, and Softball will pay a visit to the Loggers up north.

Men’s Golf took fifth at Schreiner University’s TPC shootout in San Antonio, TX at the start of the week. Both the men’s and women’s teams are preparing for Southern Oregon’s Battle at Bar Run in two weeks.

Lacrosse crashed from their early season heights on Saturday after an 8-20 result against George Fox. They bounced back on Sunday, however, defeating the Loggers 12-11 in OT, to bring their record to 3-1. Katie Kawamura (23’) scored her 100th career goal for Willamette, and the game winner in the Puget Sound game.

Women’s Tennis earned their first win of the spring on Sunday against Highline College (6-3), after losing (2-7) against the College of Idaho on Saturday. Men’s Tennis were swept 0-9 at Lewis & Clark on Sunday.

Field and Track will host their Willamette Opener meet this Saturday at home, beginning at 10 am.

Consider in the Coming Weeks: If a tree reports in a forest are there any sports?
