On August 29, WU announced over email that two employees had tested positive for COVID-19 on August 28. One employee has not been on campus since August 21, while the other was last on campus on August 27. Neither employee was in close contact with anyone at the university.
“Marion County Public Health will confirm if contact tracing is needed,” the email reads. “Faculty or staff who test positive for COVID-19 are asked to notify Danita Chapin in Human Resources at dkchapin@willamette.edu. Students who test positive are asked to notify Tori Ruiz in Student Affairs at truiz@williamette.edu.”
